I still think you're all underestimating how much the credit mattered to consumer psychology. People see $7,500 off the sticker price and it feels like they're getting a deal. Without it, even if the total cost of ownership is better, the psychologically perceived value drops.

I disagree with the notion that the credit doesn't matter. For middle-income families, that $7,500 was the difference between affording a new EV or not. Now we're seeing used EV prices drop because demand is falling. This credit situation is a real problem for EV adoption.

I disagree with the skeptics here. Battery technology is so much better now, and Kia's warranty covers the hybrid battery for 10 years. That changes the equation significantly.
