2026 Honda Pilot Exterior Photos - First Look at New Design
2026 Honda Pilot Exterior Photos - First Look at New Design
Hey everyone! I just found the official exterior gallery of the 2026 Honda Pilot from Car and Driver, and I wanted to share my initial thoughts. This new generation looks like a significant refresh compared to the current model. The front fascia has a more aggressive stance with what appears to be a redesigned grille and headlight configuration. The overall proportions seem a bit sleeker, though it still maintains that commanding SUV presence we expect from a three-row family vehicle. The body lines look sharper and more contemporary, which is refreshing for the Pilot lineup. I'm particularly impressed by what appears to be improved aerodynamics in the design. The wheel options in the photos show some really nice contemporary designs that complement the new body style nicely. The rear end also appears to have been completely redesigned with new taillights and a modified tailgate design. The side profile shows the vehicle maintains its traditional boxy SUV shape but with smoother, more integrated lines. The paint colors shown in the gallery look vibrant and well-executed. What's everyone's first impression of the exterior styling? Are you thinking about upgrading from your current Pilot, or are you considering this as a first-time Pilot buyer? I'm curious to see how this redesign performs in person, and I'm hoping we get some detailed specifications and pricing information soon. The aluminum body panels might contribute to better fuel efficiency too. Looking forward to hearing what you all think about the new design direction Honda is taking with this refresh.

The front end looks really sharp! I like how modern they've made it without losing the Honda identity. Those LED headlights are definitely an upgrade.

I'm not entirely sold on the new grille design. It seems too aggressive compared to previous generations. The older model looked more elegant to me.

The maintenance costs on these newer models tend to be pretty steep. I've read that some of the new tech features can run $2000+ to repair. Just something to keep in mind when considering the purchase.

Those wheel designs are gorgeous! The 2026 Pilot definitely has a more premium appearance now. Thinking about test driving one when they hit dealerships.

The side profile reminds me a bit of the new Highlander. Honda is definitely moving towards that more aerodynamic look across their SUV lineup.

Thanks for all the responses! I agree about the tech features potentially being expensive to maintain. That's definitely something families need to budget for with modern SUVs like this.

Does anyone know if the structural changes affect cargo capacity? The exterior looks more compact in some angles.

As a current Pilot owner, I'm impressed by how much they've refined the design. The aerodynamic improvements could mean better fuel economy, which matters for a vehicle this size.

I actually think this design is too trendy and won't age well. Give me the classic boxy Pilot look any day. This feels like they're trying too hard to be sporty.
