Lancia Gamma Returns as Electric SUV - Partnership with DS No7
Re: Lancia Gamma Returns as Electric SUV - Partnership with DS No7
The fact that Stellantis is backing this gives me confidence. They have the resources and technology to make this successful. Lancia Gamma as an electric SUV could genuinely shake up the premium EV segment.

Great responses everyone! To address the skepticism, I get why some feel the SUV direction is overused, but the automotive market has changed dramatically. SUVs are what customers want now, and Lancia needs to be relevant. I think they can honor the Gamma legacy through performance, quality, and design rather than just the body style.

Following up on my earlier question about maintenance - I read that premium electric vehicles can cost 20-30% more for servicing compared to regular premium cars. The battery diagnostics and thermal management system repairs are especially pricey. Something to consider before purchasing.

The Lancia Gamma nameplate is legendary. Even if the body style has changed, if they deliver on quality, performance, and technology, I think this will be received well. Italian heritage meets modern electric innovation - that's a compelling story.

I stand by my earlier comment. It's lazy branding to just slap old names on new vehicles. The Gamma heritage deserves better than being used as a marketing tool for another generic electric SUV. I'll wait to see the actual product before judging further.

I'm really curious about the performance specs. Will this be a performance-oriented electric SUV like some competitors, or will it focus on comfort and luxury? The original Gamma had a sporty character, so I hope Lancia brings some of that back.

The platform sharing with DS No7 actually makes sense from an engineering standpoint. Both brands can optimize costs while maintaining separate design identities. I think this is a smart move by Stellantis.
