I work in the energy sector and I'm genuinely worried about grid capacity. Everyone installing chargers simultaneously could cause serious infrastructure strain. Has anyone modeled the total demand this could create?

Anyone know if this scheme covers both AC and DC rapid chargers? The mix you need depends heavily on your depot layout and vehicle types. Need clarity on exactly what qualifies.

The employee benefit perspective is worth considering too. Employees with company cars can charge at work essentially for free. That's a major perk for recruitment and retention in competitive markets.

One thing people aren't discussing: second-hand vehicle market will be impacted. As companies buy new EVs, older diesel vans will flood the used market and tank in value. That's a real cost that should factor into transition planning.

The logistics industry needed this boost badly. Fuel costs have been crushing margins and electrification was looking too expensive. With proper incentives, we can actually make the numbers work for large-scale fleet conversion.

The maintenance cost question is critical here. EV batteries degrade over time and replacement becomes necessary. How does the subsidy account for these future liabilities? Companies need total cost of ownership projections, not just charger discounts.

Fleet electrification is inevitable but this subsidy feels like it's addressing symptoms rather than causes. Real solution is redesigning routes and delivery patterns to reduce overall transport demand. That's where the real environmental wins are.

This scheme is long overdue. The private sector has been waiting for government backing on this. Now that it's coming, I expect we'll see significant fleet conversion activity in the next 18 months. Stock up on installation expertise now.

Good point about used vehicles, andrew_wijaya. The transition dynamics are complex. But thinking long-term, we're moving toward either electrification or hydrogen for commercial transport. The sooner businesses adapt, the better their competitiveness.
