Nissan's Platform Strategy: Unibody & Body-on-Frame Pathfinder Coexistence

Post by emmawalker743 »

Nissan has revealed its future platform strategy for the Pathfinder. The automaker plans to sell both unibody and body-on-frame versions of the SUV side by side. This move aims to cater to a wider range of customer preferences and market demands. The unibody version, expected to be more car-like, will focus on comfort and handling, while the body-on-frame version will prioritize off-road capability and toughness. This strategy is reminiscent of the Ford Explorer's past, which also offered both unibody and body-on-frame variants. Nissan believes this dual-platform approach will help the Pathfinder compete more effectively in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.

I'm a bit skeptical. Having two platforms might complicate production and maintenance.

Interesting strategy! I'm curious to see how these two versions will differ in terms of driving experience.

I'm more interested in the unibody version. I value comfort and better fuel efficiency.

I disagree. I think this will lead to confusion among buyers and dealerships.

I'm concerned about the potential price difference between the two. It might be significant.

I believe this strategy will give Nissan an edge in the market. It's all about offering choices.

Maintenance cost might be higher for the body-on-frame version. Something to consider.
