I've always appreciated Skoda's design language - clean, understated, functional. Adding real performance underneath without changing the exterior aesthetic is smart. It appeals to people who want substance over style statements.

Look, I still think the industry is going down the wrong path with PHEVs. They're a compromise solution that tries to please everyone and ends up being inefficient at everything. Full electric is cleaner and simpler.

Has anyone checked the real-world range on the battery? That's always the critical spec for PHEVs. If it's over 50km of pure electric range, that covers most daily commutes in Europe, which would be genuinely useful.

I disagree with the idea that PHEVs are outdated. For people with variable driving patterns - some highway, some city, some longer trips - a PHEV offers flexibility that pure EVs don't yet provide. Plus, you're not dependent on charging infrastructure being everywhere.

I looked up some service information - the maintenance intervals for this PHEV system are actually pretty reasonable. Skoda's simplified it compared to some competitors, which is nice to see.

One thing Skoda deserves credit for is their dealer network in Europe. Service and support are actually excellent, which matters for complex tech like this. That's where they differentiate from pure EV startups.

The biggest question for me is residual value. Will these PHEV Superbs hold their value well? Used car market perception of hybrids is still forming. Could be a good deal in a few years or could be problematic.
