2017 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 7-Speed - Only 7k Miles, Immaculate Condition

Post by daniel.hall »

Just found this gem on Bring a Trailer and thought the community should take a look. This is a 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe with the 7-speed manual transmission - incredibly low mileage at just 7,000 miles. The car appears to be in pristine condition, which is exactly what you'd expect from such light use.

For those unfamiliar, the 2017 911 Carrera represents the 991.1 generation, and this particular example features the highly desirable manual gearbox. The 3.4-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine produces 350 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque in this model year. With only 7k miles on the clock, this car has barely been broken in.

The specs look solid - the coupe body style, the 7-speed manual transmission, and that incredibly low mileage make this a pretty attractive proposition for someone looking to get into 911 ownership without the depreciation hit of a newer model. The 991.1 generation is still considered one of the best-driving 911s in recent history.

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on the pricing and whether the low mileage justifies the market value. Also, would love to hear from anyone with experience owning a 2017 911 Carrera - what's been your experience with reliability and ownership costs? Are there any common issues or maintenance items I should be aware of?

Looking forward to hearing what the forum thinks about this one!

That mileage is absolutely insane for a 2017. The 991.1 generation 911s are fantastic drivers - the manual transmission is definitely the way to go if you want to enjoy the car properly. The 3.4L naturally aspirated engine sounds incredible too. This could be a solid investment.

Manual transmission 911s are becoming rarer by the year. If you're serious about this car, I'd have it inspected by an independent Porsche specialist before committing. Even with low miles, you want to check the fluid levels and service history carefully.

The coupe is the way to go over the convertible. Better handling dynamics and the whole package just looks more aggressive. That said, I'd be concerned about why this car has sat unused for so long with such low mileage. Could indicate storage issues or other problems.

7-speed manual is still one of the best gearboxes Porsche ever made. The 991.1 Carrera feels more raw than the newer models. If the price is right, this could be a no-brainer for someone wanting a low-mileage, well-preserved example.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I've been thinking about pulling the trigger, but I want to make sure I understand what I'm getting into with the 2017 model year specifically. Anyone have thoughts on resale value holding up well for these?

I completely disagree with some of the optimism here. The 991.1 generation is getting older now, and you need to seriously consider what repairs might be on the horizon. Clutch replacement, suspension work - these aren't cheap on a Porsche. Make sure you have savings set aside.

The 2017 model year is solid - no major recalls or widespread issues that I'm aware of. The manual transmission is bulletproof. My only question would be about the service history. Has this car been properly stored? Batteries maintained? Fluids topped off?

Don't sleep on maintenance costs with these cars. Even with 7k miles, you're looking at regular service appointments, and Porsche dealers don't come cheap. Budget $1,500+ annually just for routine maintenance, oil changes, and inspections. Tires and brakes can get pricey too.

That's a stunning looking car though. The guards red exterior and black interior combo is timeless. The 911 Carrera Coupe design from this era is still one of my favorites. Forget the numbers for a second - would you enjoy driving it?
