Daniel, do you know if there were any actual injuries or damage from these incidents? That context would help determine how serious this really is versus sensationalism.

Anyone else think the media is blowing this out of proportion? Military operations are complex, mistakes happen, and they're handled through proper channels. This doesn't need to be a public scandal.

The terminology 'attack' in the original article title is pretty loaded language. It wasn't an attack - it was an error. Still needs investigation, but let's be accurate about what happened.

Thanks for the responses. I want to clarify - I'm not anti-military, but accountability is important. If this has happened twice, there's a pattern. The military needs to figure out if it's training, equipment, or procedure-related. The people operating these systems need to be held to the highest standards.

I think El Paso needs a dedicated task force to review all military-civilian aviation interactions in that airspace. Better coordination could prevent these kinds of mistakes.

The real question is whether the maintenance schedules and equipment inspection protocols were followed before these incidents. I bet that's where the real problems lie.

When you're dealing with weapons systems that could injure or kill people, there's no such thing as blowing things out of proportion. Every incident matters.
