The interior ergonomics were genuinely thoughtful for the era. Everything felt substantial and well-placed. The steering wheel response, the brake feel, the overall driving experience - it didn't feel like a truck masquerading as a luxury vehicle. It was a proper luxury vehicle that happened to be a truck.

Does anyone here restore Wagoneers currently? I'm interested in the restoration community and what they prioritize. Engine modifications or keeping it original? Interior updates or maintaining period authenticity?

I disagree with the earlier argument about it being the first luxury SUV. Range Rover beat Jeep to market with a genuine luxury SUV concept. Yes, the Wagoneer was excellent, but Range Rover created the segment. Jeep refined it and made it more accessible to American consumers.

Part IV should definitely cover the later model iterations. How the Wagoneer evolved through the decades, and where it finally ended production. That transition period tells us a lot about how automotive markets shifted away from body-on-frame SUVs.

The resale value on well-maintained examples is actually incredible right now. Classic car market has really recognized the Wagoneer's significance. Investment potential aside, there's something special about owning a piece of automotive history that still functions as a legitimate vehicle.

Looking forward to seeing how Part IV continues the narrative. The Wagoneer's market positioning and competitor analysis would be fascinating. How did it compete with Range Rover internationally? What made it succeed in the American market?

The towing capacity was legitimately impressive for its class. You could use this as an actual working vehicle while maintaining luxury appointments. It wasn't just a status symbol - it had real utility. That combination is what made it special.
