Warning: Legit Auto Group's Deals Were Anything But Legit

Post by kevintan132 »

Hey everyone, I need to warn the community about Legit Auto Group. I recently purchased a vehicle from them after seeing their incredibly cheap deals advertised online. The prices seemed too good to be true, and honestly, they were. I thought I'd found an amazing bargain, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The car had multiple undisclosed mechanical issues that weren't caught during their so-called inspection. Within the first week of ownership, I discovered transmission problems, engine warning lights, and rust damage that was covered up with cheap paint jobs. When I contacted the dealer to address these issues, they basically told me it was sold as-is and refused to provide any warranty coverage or assistance. I've spent thousands in repair costs already and I'm only a few days in. The reviews online that looked positive now seem suspicious - I wouldn't be surprised if they were fake. Their sales team was extremely pushy and used high-pressure tactics to close the deal quickly, which in hindsight should have been a major red flag. They kept insisting I sign papers without fully reviewing them, and the financing terms they offered were predatory. I'm genuinely concerned that other people are falling victim to this dealership's deceptive practices. If you're considering buying from Legit Auto Group, please do your research first and get a pre-purchase inspection from an independent mechanic. Don't make the same mistake I did. Has anyone else had experiences with this dealership? I'd like to hear if this is an isolated incident or a pattern of behavior.

That's terrible! I'm sorry you had to go through this. Did you try contacting your state's attorney general or consumer protection agency? They might be able to help you file a complaint against the dealership.

This is a classic bait-and-switch operation. They attract customers with impossible prices, then sell them junk. Legit Auto Group is anything but legit based on your story.

Thanks for the support everyone. Yes, I'm documenting everything and planning to consult with a lawyer. The dealer's lack of transparency is what really bothers me. They knew about these issues.

I disagree that all cheap deals are bad. Sometimes dealers just need to move inventory quickly. But in this case, it sounds like Legit Auto Group was deliberately hiding problems, which is fraud.

This is exactly why I always use certified pre-owned vehicles from established dealerships. Those rock-bottom prices are always a sign that something is wrong with the car.

Did you get everything in writing? If they promised certain conditions and didn't deliver, you might have legal recourse. Consider hiring a consumer attorney.

The maintenance costs on a vehicle with hidden problems can skyrocket very quickly. You're probably looking at thousands in repairs before this car is even safe to drive regularly. That's on top of what you already paid.

How long have you owned the car? If it's within a certain timeframe, some states have lemon laws that might protect you. Worth looking into.

I actually bought from Legit Auto Group last year and had a great experience. Maybe you just got unlucky with a bad car? Not every vehicle from them is problematic.
