I'm not totally sold on the new direction honestly. I think they've made it too aggressive looking - it's starting to look like every other BMW M car now. The previous generation had more character and uniqueness to it.

The turbocharged engine requires synthetic oil and regular inspections, but it's not as bad as previous generations. Expect around $1,200-1,500 annually for regular maintenance if you're not doing track days.
