I wonder how this affects understeer and oversteer characteristics. The current M2 has a nice balance where you can provoke oversteer if you're confident. Will the AWD system intervene too much?

The rear-bias specification is crucial. 30-70 or even 25-75 front to rear could work really well. It gives you the M2 character in normal driving but provides safety and traction when needed. Thumbs up from me.

It's still compromising the purity of the RWD formula though. Yes, the M2 will be faster, but it won't be as raw or engaging. That's what separates special cars from ordinary ones.

For people who actually track their M2s, this system should be a huge upgrade. More grip through the technical sections, more confidence in the wet. The enthusiasts will love it once they experience it.

The technology here is really impressive when you think about it. Managing torque distribution between front and rear in real-time while keeping the steering sharp? That's next-level engineering. Props to BMW for tackling this challenge.

Real question: will this help or hurt the used market? The current RWD M2s will likely become more collectible and command premiums. New AWD models might struggle to hold value initially.

Has anyone heard when the official reveal is happening? I need to see the full specs and performance claims before I make any judgments. Hoping for more details soon.
