The Dodge and Ram divisions are still profitable though. This loss is concentrated in certain regions and product lines. Stellantis won't go under, but some brands might disappear in certain markets.

Question for the group - has anyone heard if specific brands like Peugeot or Citroen are getting cut? That would help me understand the scope of this realignment better.

The realignment probably means less investment in traditional gas vehicles and more focus on EVs. That's where all the margin went. Companies that transition slowly get punished like this.

The real question is execution. They've identified the problem, now can they fix it? The next 12-18 months will determine if this charge actually worked or if it was just damage control theater.

I think people are overreacting. Stellantis reported a massive loss specifically because they're being transparent about charges. That's actually a good sign compared to companies that hide problems.

Stellantis still controls massive market share in Europe and has decent presence in US and India. One bad year doesn't erase decades of automotive expertise. They'll bounce back.

Honestly, $26.3 billion makes me think they're overestimating how bad things are. Maybe this is management trying to clear house and blame the previous strategy. The real test is whether they can actually improve profitability.

I appreciate the varied perspectives here. This definitely isn't black and white. The company's decisions over the next year will determine if this charge was necessary restructuring or a sign of deeper strategic failure. We'll know more by 2026.

The stock market will determine their fate. If investors lose confidence, refinancing becomes expensive and options shrink. Keep watching their credit rating and bond yields.
