Is the new Velar EV actually a Range Rover saloon? Thoughts on the design shift

I'm skeptical about calling this a Range Rover at all. A Range Rover should be capable off-road. This seems more like a Range Rover-branded Tesla competitor. They're confusing heritage with marketing.

I think the real question is whether customers care more about the badge or the actual product. If this Velar EV delivers on luxury, performance, and efficiency, does it matter that it's shaped like a saloon?

Anyone else concerned about the charging infrastructure at dealerships? Land Rover needs to ensure their service centers are equipped with fast-charging stations if they're serious about this segment.

From a styling perspective, this is genuinely beautiful. It's a bold move, but luxury consumers want sophistication. Not everything needs to look like an SUV anymore.

The sustainability angle is huge here too. Luxury brands need to address climate concerns, and going electric is the right move. The saloon design just makes the statement even stronger.

The market research must have shown strong demand for this. I trust Land Rover's product development team. They wouldn't take this risk without solid data backing the decision.

I'd rather see them create a completely new luxury EV brand than dilute the Range Rover identity. This feels like they're trying to be everything to everyone, which usually means you're great at nothing.

Has there been any discussion about the pricing compared to competitors like the BMW i7 or Mercedes EQS? That will really determine if this is positioned correctly.
