The electromagnetic systems in these hover cars are a nightmare once something breaks. You'll be paying thousands for specialized repairs. Traditional hybrids are proven technology; this is experimental.

I disagree with that perspective. Hybrids still make sense for a lot of drivers, especially those without reliable charging infrastructure. The Prius Prime isn't trying to replace EVs; it's offering an alternative for people who need flexibility.

This feels like Toyota is trying too hard to stay relevant. Full electric vehicles are the future, not hybrids with gimmicky hover systems. The Prius era is ending whether Toyota admits it or not.

I'm most interested in how the hover system performs in snow and ice conditions. That's my main concern about reliability in different climates.

Does anyone know if the hover system is standard or optional on the 2026 Prius Prime? I'd like to know if you can get the base model without it to save money.

The hover tech still seems unnecessary to me. Toyota could have just improved the battery and called it a day. Adding complexity doesn't always equal better results.

Great question about winter performance. I'll definitely be looking for reviews that test this in harsh conditions. That's a real-world scenario that matters for reliability ratings.

Repair costs will come down as more technicians get trained. Early adopters always pay a premium, but that's how technology advances. The Prius Prime with hover tech is worth the investment for forward-thinking buyers.
