The credit definitely accelerated the timeline. Automakers ramped up EV production partly because they knew customers had more purchasing power with the incentive. Whether that's good or bad depends on your perspective on EVs.

The credit mattered for used EV prices too. Knowing the new car credit would eventually go away made used EVs more attractive. It's been a cascading effect throughout the market.
