This conversation really shows how technology has made cars worse in some ways. We've traded reliability and simplicity for complexity and planned obsolescence. Not sure it's a good trade.

Anyone else noticed that luxury brands have the same issues? I'd expect better from Audi, but apparently not. The A2 is a solid car otherwise though.

The button woes aside, the A2 really is a great little car. Shame Audi discontinued it. Would love to see them bring back something simple and reliable like that instead of all these complicated SUVs.

You could always get it refurbished at an independent garage. I've had good luck with local mechanics who can source better parts than dealers for half the price.

Still think people are overreacting. Button wear happens on every car, including vintage ones. It's just wear and tear. Not everything is a conspiracy against the consumer.

Kevin's right. I think some of you are being too nostalgic about older cars. They had their own problems. At least modern cars don't rust as badly or need tune-ups every season.

This reminds me why I prefer older cars. My 1999 Mercedes still has solid buttons and switches. They don't look fancy, but they work. Modern design prioritizes aesthetics over durability, and it shows.
