I'm not convinced this is a good idea. The M2's entire appeal is its pure RWD setup and the connection to the road. Adding AWD will make it feel like every other performance sedan. They're ruining what made the M2 special.

It's still compromising the purity of the RWD formula though. Yes, the M2 will be faster, but it won't be as raw or engaging. That's what separates special cars from ordinary ones.
