The 1984 refresh was important too. They really addressed a lot of the earlier complaints. Stronger engine, better interiors, improved electrical systems. It's the model year to target if you're shopping.

Great find, daniel_johnson! The X1/9 is criminally underrated in classic car circles. That mid-engine design really does wonders for the balance and handling. I've always thought these deserve more appreciation than they get.

I found the ride a bit too firm for my liking.
