Does it have the air suspension or the coil spring setup? And are all the electronic goodies still functioning properly? I've read some forums where people had issues with the infotainment system.

I'm impressed by how Defender kept the vehicle recognizable as a production model while making it competitive at Dakar level. Too many manufacturers build complete race cars and call them stock class. The D7X-Rs actually looks like something you could order and drive on roads.

The maintenance costs associated with vehicles have skyrocketed since all these safety regulations came in. Modern breathalyzers, interlocks, and compliance equipment add hundreds to annual upkeep. Not defending drunk driving at all, but the financial burden on motorists has been substantial.

The social impact is worth discussing too. Designated driver culture only really emerged in the 90s in the UK. Before that people didn't even have a concept of that responsibility. Education campaigns completely changed how we think about group outings.
