The 260E is a solid choice for someone who appreciates classic German engineering without wanting to deal with the fuel consumption of the larger engines. It's a practical collector car, really. Not too expensive to buy, and parts can be sourced through specialty suppliers.

Has anyone looked into insurance costs for owning a car like this? I imagine classic car insurance might be quite reasonable, but I'm not sure if there are special considerations for a 1987 Mercedes.
