Actually, I think $100K for a Jeff Koons M850i is still reasonable. These things will probably stabilize and start gaining value again in 5-10 years. Collector cars are cyclical investments.

The BMW 8 Series in general has been struggling with sales and resale values. This art edition probably just exacerbated the problem. Collectors wanted the regular models more than this special variant.
