I think people underestimate how much luxury features the Wagoneer packed. Air conditioning that actually worked, power windows, power steering - these weren't standard in most SUVs back then. Jeep was serious about competing with traditional luxury cars.

The towing capacity was legitimately impressive for its class. You could use this as an actual working vehicle while maintaining luxury appointments. It wasn't just a status symbol - it had real utility. That combination is what made it special.
