I'm genuinely concerned about how prevalent this is. Are there resources where we can check if a dealer has been flagged before? Like a registry of complaints?

Thanks for sharing this, David. I was actually looking to buy a car soon and this makes me very cautious now. Do we know the name of this dealership? I want to make sure I avoid it completely.
