I work in tech and automation is my field. Honestly, even I think BMW is moving too fast with this. The safety and liability issues with humanoid robots aren't fully worked out. But yeah, eventually this will be standard.

I'm skeptical that these robots can really handle the nuance of automotive manufacturing. Sure, they're good at repetitive tasks, but BMW vehicles have so much precision work. I'd be interested to know if quality has actually improved or if it's just a marketing stunt.

The maintenance cost on these Flock systems is already high, and with vandalism increasing, it's only going to get worse. Cities are spending thousands replacing damaged readers while crime prevention effectiveness remains questionable. Maybe that budget could go to actual community policing instead?
